Clun Forest Ewes - Page 2
Our goal at Timberwood Farms is to breed self-sufficient sheep with an emphasis
on a lean meat carcass and fine wool. Toward this end, we selected ewes for our
foundation stock whom we believe embodied these characteristics.  All our
foundation ewes trace directly back to five top UK rams
(Saltersford's Derek,
Pen-Y-Wern's Beater
, Court Llaca's 3815, Guifron's 4150, and Easter
Beltie).

Our ewes are pasture raised and only occasionally receive grain as a treat.  We
participate in the Clun Forest Lambplan.  In addition, our stock is OPP, Scrapie,
and foot rot free.

                                           2011 Fiber Score: 32.8 Microns
                                           Lambplan Score:

Sire:  Touchstone Tanzanite 2T-00058 (Touchstone Sampson 2S-00093 X Prairie 2L-00121)
Dam: Touchstone T07 (Ivory) 2T-00057(Touchstone Sampson 2S-00093 X Touchstone M04
2M-00062)

Ivory has produced a very nice ewe lamb.  Coriander has good depth to her body, a nice wide
rear, excellent leg set and a nice straight topline, although it isn't apparent in the photograph.
She has a nice dark face, wool free legs, and wool with a fine luster and crimp.  A little skittish
like her mother, Coriander is still a nice ewe lamb that shows great promise.  Coriander was
bred to Zander for spring 2015 lambs.

Dam: Touchstone T39 (Opal) 2T-00059(Touchstone Rupert 2R-00085 X Touchstone M07)

Opal's first lamb is a big, extremely well built ewe with great length and an outstanding rear
end assembly.   Thyme has a really nice frame, correct leg set, straight topline, and the
classic Clun face, ears and wool free legs.  We are eagerly waiting to see how Thyme
matures.  Thyme was bred to  Zander for spring 2015 lambs.
    Timberwood Sage (034)

Dam: Blue Heron T04 (Ruby) 2T-00037(Touchstone Marcus 2M-00060  X Touchstone R063)

Our first Clun Forest ewe lamb, Sage is a beautiful big lamb with very nice leg set, wide in the
rear, and although the photo doesn't show it, a straight topline.  She has the classic dark Clun
face with a narrow muzzle.  Her ear set could be a little better, but other than that she is a very
nice ewe lamb.   Sage was bred to Zander for 2015 Lambs.

The Ivory and Rowdy combination has produced a very nice ewe.  Jamocha is a big, very well
built ewe with classic Clun features -  a nice dark face, wool free legs, and wool with a nice
luster and crimp.  We are really excited to have her as an addition to our breeding program.
Jamocha was bred to Zander for spring 2015 lambs.
